the last sin
  pale ashen sky
a bleary eye
clouds of recurring screams...
i am a zoo
  an octopus leviathan
tentacles into an ocean
of unformed emotions...
syphilis and love
  syphilitic pall
stifles the clear blue
i contort...
shell and pearl
  amidst highs and lows
in life's ocean flows
a shell peony-mouthed...
i am an unmarried mother
  fed on stings
of barbed milk morality
my child-plankton...
the lovers
  cell upon cell
bridge of their union
hung on the pillars...
  ogre of age
and time cavil
at a warm picture...
the young today
  innocence thaws
at the altar
of ambition...

body and soul

you got my body shakin’
send a shiver to my soul

body and soul
two absolute concepts
one mortal other eternal
why do we say soul is unending?
is it the gut feeling
or centuries of instruction
oral written subliminal
the start of an enduring journey
couldn’t begin with a full stop
on the contrary myriad pixels
do form a picture

maybe body and soul are two
ends that join
the dotted line called ephemera
individual soul atman
gets subsumed into its universal avatar
brahman and in a way self-destructs
or would you call it evolution
Upanishadic nirvana
attainment of the final resting place
of restless bodiless souls

maybe soul is a glutton and feeds on body
and if it’s such a guarding angel
why does it let the body err
am i confusing soul with conscience

meat and metaphysics
a parasitical interdependence
soul shorn of substance
is hot air with an attitude
and body bereft of essence
is a floating mass
in a gravity-less vacuum
i suspect body and soul conjoined
is Janus-countenanced
a double faced mirror on two legs
with a story to tell
of ceaseless conflict and resolution
matter versus ether
matter for ether
a never-ending spiral

would a hollow man have a halo?
