the last sin
  pale ashen sky
a bleary eye
clouds of recurring screams...
i am a zoo
  an octopus leviathan
tentacles into an ocean
of unformed emotions...
syphilis and love
  syphilitic pall
stifles the clear blue
i contort...
shell and pearl
  amidst highs and lows
in life's ocean flows
a shell peony-mouthed...
i am an unmarried mother
  fed on stings
of barbed milk morality
my child-plankton...
the lovers
  cell upon cell
bridge of their union
hung on the pillars...
  ogre of age
and time cavil
at a warm picture...
the young today
  innocence thaws
at the altar
of ambition...

The Stalker

On a London tube, he sees her
Through the corner of his prismatic eyes
She shuffles uneasily on the seat
In her early thirties, she sports a light green top
Under a long time-scarred leather coat
And faded jeans that tell a story
Her cheeks have a dash of pink
And her eyes a grey of sadness
She keeps to herself
Occasionally twitching a lip
Reading a crime bestseller
He strains to see the title
But gets the blurb alright
At Wimbledon Park she alights
He gets down with her
To trail her shadow
Outside the station, on a lonely stretch
He musters up courage
And begins to walk in line with her
She is wearing workwoman’s shoes
It starts drizzling
And as she opens an umbrella
Sunflowers break free
Of the gloomy English weather
He’s without one of course
She gives him a baffled look
It’s then that he dares
“May I ask you for a cup of coffee,
if you don’t mind?”, he mumbles
She smiles faintly and says
“I am in a bit of a rush, thank you”
A journeyman he retraces his steps
And she fades away
In the looming horizon

The drizzle is on the ebb
He wanders aimlessly for a while
Thinks of the lovers sitting on a Prague bench
On that misty evening
Or that beautiful girl with long jade earrings
In a Moscow hotel waiting for her boyfriend
To pick her after her shift
His thoughts are interrupted
As he hears footsteps in the distance
A mob is on the prowl
Looking for a stalker
He straightens his overcoat
And disappears
Into the twilight
