the last sin
  pale ashen sky
a bleary eye
clouds of recurring screams...
i am a zoo
  an octopus leviathan
tentacles into an ocean
of unformed emotions...
syphilis and love
  syphilitic pall
stifles the clear blue
i contort...
shell and pearl
  amidst highs and lows
in life's ocean flows
a shell peony-mouthed...
i am an unmarried mother
  fed on stings
of barbed milk morality
my child-plankton...
the lovers
  cell upon cell
bridge of their union
hung on the pillars...
  ogre of age
and time cavil
at a warm picture...
the young today
  innocence thaws
at the altar
of ambition...

of horses and asses

once upon a time
in moron city in the animal kingdom
there was a big race among horses and asses
to determine once and for all
who is fastest of them all
asses had had up to their neck about the horses
their self-confident gallop noses in the air
just the general feel of superiority
was getting on to the asses
so the asses had planned a great revenge
during the race "let's show these buggers"
they had chorused in conspiratorial tones
they were in majority of course
forty asses to one horse
so when the race began the trick was to shadow
the nimble horses clip their strides
and put speed-breakers on their canter
by surrounding them and not letting them escape
simple but crushing strategy
ultimately brute numbers prevailed
the spirited horses gave up
and for the security of their life and limb
started pretending they were asses
in horses' disguise
the victorious asses then took out a procession
their leader the king ass was garlanded
speeches were made in his honour
and on how he had made lethargy a virtue
and carved a shining career out of it

dear reader, don't get me wrong
it's a not a parable about the human condition
for even asses have their blessings
you couldn't get better beasts of burden
while men who are asses are major millstones
around the neck of society
when it is the rule of the asses
don’t you dare whimper any dissent
remember the kick on the butt can be a painful experience
a few broken bones is not a reward worth cherishing
so join me in hailing the kingdom of asses
let's drink to their health
may you be blessed with dumbness
it's important for survival

let a thousand asses bloom.

moral of the story: in the land of asses, be an ass.
