the last sin
  pale ashen sky
a bleary eye
clouds of recurring screams...
i am a zoo
  an octopus leviathan
tentacles into an ocean
of unformed emotions...
syphilis and love
  syphilitic pall
stifles the clear blue
i contort...

shell and pearl
  amidst highs and lows
in life's ocean flows
a shell peony-mouthed...

i am an unmarried mother

  fed on stings
of barbed milk morality
my child-plankton...

the lovers
  cell upon cell
bridge of their union
hung on the pillars...
rebirth
  ogre of age
and time cavil
at a warm picture...
the young today
  innocence thaws
at the altar
of ambition...

two divas in one night

last night i was caught between
Prayer and Seduction
two damning divas
Prayer came in an unassuming avatar
not in supplication but in sharing
of deep-felt human urgencies
like how a trite banana at the altar
be transformed into a lethal
instrument for gratification
life is full of potential
Seduction had a matter of fact approach
no holding the brief for the Menaka route
no soft lights no classical music no chantilly
no soul-stirring prelude
let’s get on with the business at hand
do you know Hindi?
i'd prefer if you croon those love songs
in the native tongue

now you tell me how am i going to
survive this?
